Job summary

Ocado Retail is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Legal and Compliance team in Hatfield. You’ll provide day-to-day real estate and construction advice, review leases, manage external counsel, and help shape precedents and training across the business.

The role operates in a hybrid model (3 days in-office) with ownership of complex property matters, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a proactive approach to regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with post-qualification real estate experience.
• Expertise in landlord and tenant law.
• Sound commercial awareness and good communication skills.
• Pragmatic, commercial and risk-based approach.
• Experience using AI to support day to day work.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day real estate and construction legal advice.
• Review and negotiate leases, licences, and related contracts.
• Manage external counsel and translate legal advice to stakeholders.
• Develop precedents and training for the business.
• Monitor legislation and advise on compliance.
