Job summary

Alternative Heat Ltd Head Office location is seeking a Commercial Buyer to manage end-to-end procurement of workshop consumables, materials and components. Someone who enjoys variety and collaboration, working closely with the Purchasing Manager, suppliers, Finance, Production and wider business teams.

Who will you work with?

You’ll work closely with the Purchasing Manager, supporting purchasing activity across the business and taking ownership of workshop and site consumables.

You’ll also work with suppliers, Finance, Goods In, Production and other internal teams to ensure materials and consumables are ordered, delivered and recorded accurately.

What You'll be Doing

Manage end-to-end procurement and replenishment of consumables, materials and components to support workshop and project requirements, ensuring continuity of supply and minimising downtime. Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, quality and delivery performance, while maintaining strong relationships with steel mills, strategic suppliers and service providers. Manage and expedite purchase orders in line with project schedules, monitor supplier performance, identify cost-saving and risk-mitigation opportunities, and track market factors such as steel prices, tariffs, duties and currency movements. Maintain accurate procurement and compliance records, collaborate with Production, Projects and Finance to resolve supply and invoice issues, and support forecasting, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient, compliant and commercially focused purchasing processes.
