Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Commercial Assistant to join our team, providing support to the commercial function across the full lifecycle of each project—from measuring completed works to approving subcontractor supply chain applications.

You will assist with contract management in line with JTC, NEC 3/4 (Options A & C) and subcontractor negotiations, payments, and performance tracking, while delivering accurate cost reporting and robust documentation to support timely decision making.

Qualifications

• Experience in NHF SoR Rates or similar Bespoke Sor Rates.
• Familiarity with the construction industry.
• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at 9-4 (grade C or above), including Math, English, and ideally a Science.
• Any Level 4 related qualification is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel.
• Basic understanding of standard methods of measurement.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility.
• Willingness to take responsibility for own development and extend knowledge of software packages.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Previous experience in the construction industry is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team across the full project lifecycle.
• Assist with contract management in line with JTC, NEC 3/4 (Options A & C).
• Support subcontractor negotiations, payments and performance tracking.
• Deliver accurate Completed works measures and Billing Processes.
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation and Earned Value Analysis reports, maintaining robust commercial documentation.
