Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Commercial Assistant to support contract management, subcontractor negotiations and billing processes on nationally significant infrastructure projects.

You will produce cost reporting, value reconciliations and ensure robust commercial documentation across teams, maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines and travel as required.

Qualifications

• NHF SoR Rates or similar experience required.
• Familiarity with the construction industry is preferred.
• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at 9-4 including Maths and English; Science is desirable.
• Any Level 4 related qualification is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data handling.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; willing to develop software skills.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel as required.

Job Description

United Infrastructure is looking for an Commercial Assistant to join our team. As part of a dynamic, fast-growing division, you'll be at the heart of nationally significant infrastructure projects that will shape the UK’s future.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Contract management in line with JTC, NEC 3/4 (Options A & C)
• Subcontractor negotiations, payments, and performance tracking
• Deliver accurate and timely Completed works measures and Billing Processes
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation and generate Earned Value Analysis reports, whilst maintaining robust commercial documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have Experience in NHF SoR Rates or similar
• Bespoke Sor Rates
• Familiarity with the construction industry
• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at 9-4 (grade C or above), including Math, English, and ideally a Science
• Any previous Level 4 related qualification or equivalent discipline is advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel
• Basic understanding of standard methods of measurementStrong numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Enthusiasm, commitment, and flexibility
• Willingness to take responsibility for own development and extend knowledge of software packages
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Previous experience in the construction industry is desirable
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required
