Job summary

Cavendish Maine is seeking an SME Account Handler to manage a portfolio of SME clients, providing tailored insurance solutions and proactive support. You will be the first point of contact for client queries, handling risk assessments, proposals, and claims while developing long-term relationships.

The role emphasises compliance with FCA regulations and Consumer Duty, with opportunities for progression in a supportive team. Hybrid working with two days on-site per week is offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within the insurance sector, ideally within Commercial Lines and knowledge of E-Trade policies.
• Proficiency in using insurance platforms and client management systems.
• Proven ability to generate new business and manage client portfolios.
• Understanding of FCA regulations and Consumer Duty.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build trust with clients.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach to client management and development.
• Cert CII qualification or willingness to work towards it

Job description

A highly regarded Chartered Commercial Insurance Broker are looking to appoint an Account Handler to their established SME team. They seek a driven and motivated professional with previous insurance experience to support the needs of a diverse and interesting group of clients.

As an SME Account Handler, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of SME clients and providing support for specialist schemes business.

The Account Handler is the first point of contact for all external queries and issues and will require the skills and knowledge to meet client expectations.

About the role:

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring their insurance needs are met effectively and efficiently.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique insurance needs and providing them with personalised solutions.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and analysis to determine appropriate coverage for clients.
• Negotiate with insurance underwriters to obtain the best terms and conditions for clients.
• Prepare and present insurance proposals to clients, explaining coverage options and pricing.
• Handle claims on behalf of clients, ensuring prompt and fair settlement.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in insurance regulations to provide clients with the most relevant and accurate information.

Key skills/experience required:

• Proven experience within the insurance sector, ideally within Commercial Lines insurance, knowledge of E-Trade policies would be beneficial.
