About the role

Lloyd & Whyte, part of Benefact Group, is seeking a Commercial Account Handler for our Commercial Lines team in Taunton.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced insurance professional aiming to advance their career. Responsibilities include providing expert insurance advice to clients via phone and email, maintaining high retention levels, and achieving income targets to support business strategy.

Key responsibilities
  • Support your Line Manager and team to meet retention, income, service KPIs, and workflow standards.
  • Provide coaching and support to ensure consistent process and advice, adhering to procedures and guidelines.
  • Promote service excellence, ensuring a culture of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ and client-first approach.
  • Assist colleagues’ professional development, including qualifications, product, and technical knowledge.
  • Organize and monitor daily workflow and productivity.
  • Foster our values and culture within the team.
  • Encourage maximization of business opportunities, including insurance reviews and client surveys.
  • Support competency sign-offs and conduct call and file assessments.
  • Review and improve processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Support the team’s Complaints Champion and handle complaints effectively.
  • Represent the company at association events professionally.
  • Maintain technical competence with knowledge of relevant products, market trends, and underwriting guidelines.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Knowledge and experience in the UK Insurance Market.
  • Ability to commute to Taunton office on a hybrid basis (3+ times/week).
  • Chartered Institute Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII).
  • Willingness to pursue your Diploma in Insurance with subsidized support.
