Role Overview

As a Commercial Account Executive (Renewals Focus), your primary responsibility will be to manage and retain existing commercial clients. You’ll lead the renewal process, ensure policy accuracy, negotiate competitive terms with insurers, and provide a consistently high standard of service. While the role includes cross-selling and occasional new business, your main objective is to maintain our high renewal retention rate and strengthen long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Renewal Management: Lead the end-to-end renewal process for a varied book of SME and mid-market clients
  • Client Retention: Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients, understanding their evolving needs
  • Policy Reviews: Conduct annual cover reviews to ensure clients have appropriate and competitively priced insurance
  • Market Negotiation: Liaise with insurers and underwriters to obtain and negotiate the most suitable renewal terms
  • Servicing: Handle mid-term adjustments (MTAs), client queries, documentation, and general account management
  • Cross-Selling: Identify opportunities to offer additional covers relevant to the client's business activities
  • Compliance: Ensure all client files and interactions are fully compliant with FCA regulations and company standards
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in a commercial insurance broking role, preferably handling renewals
  • Solid knowledge of SME commercial policies including property, liability, combined, and motor
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Cert CII qualification preferred or willingness to work towards it
  • Experience using Acturis is desirable but not essential
  • A customer-first mindset with a focus on retention and service delivery
