Collections Strategy Performance Analyst

About your role:

The Collections Strategy Performance Analyst is part of the Business Excellence function within British Gas Business Energy, focusing on operational performance.

The role involves understanding outsourced Debt Treatment performance, collaborating with operational teams to set targets, mitigate risks, and improve performance to deliver market-leading debt results.

This role is responsible for delivering analytics, assessing collection strategies, reducing debt costs, and enabling optimized credit and collections decisions.

Key responsibilities:
  • Analyze and report on monthly collections performance, linking operational activity to financial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with debt teams to monitor KPIs, set targets, and track progress.
  • Forecast collection performance and set challenging goals.
  • Identify opportunities and risks, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Implement controls to ensure all debt is treated appropriately.
  • Support business leads with ad hoc analysis for better decision-making.
  • Assist in deploying strategic changes to collection strategies.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to execute risk-based collection strategies.
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives, evaluating costs and benefits.
  • Monitor operational performance and change initiatives for effectiveness.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in credit risk performance.
Candidate requirements:

Looking for someone with a strong understanding of credit risk, debt processes, and key performance drivers, capable of linking operational outputs to financial and customer outcomes. Excellent analytical skills, innovative thinking, and experience in improving complex organizations are essential.

Must be a proactive self-starter, able to manage multiple priorities under pressure, with a solid background in analytics and data mining. Ability to translate data into insights and work collaboratively across teams is crucial.
