Job description

Are you a skilled Collections Specialist looking to rise to a new challenge?

Pepper Advantage is one of the leading loan servicing companies in the UK, and we are currently recruiting for Collections Specialists to join our dynamic and growing team in Uxbridge, London.

We are looking for candidates with outstanding customer service skills to manage the servicing of mortgages throughout the complete cycle, including delivering workout solutions to customers experiencing payment difficulties and managing the litigation process via liaison with appointed solicitors.

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of 3 days per week office attendance following a 3-4 month period of office-based training.

As a Collections Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Delivering accurate and timely processing of mortgage administration activities.
  2. Maintaining regular communication with customers facing payment difficulties.
  3. Discussing and negotiating arrears workout options, such as arrangements, capitalisation, loan workouts, shortfall sales, etc.
  4. Monitoring agreed workout strategies to ensure compliance and taking further action as per the Special Servicing Manual where appropriate.
  5. Analyzing problems, thinking creatively, and making effective decisions within appropriate timescales.
  6. Having recent experience in a Collections role.
  7. Dealing with customers experiencing financial difficulties.
  8. Having prior exposure to operational loans, preferably in a mortgage context.
  9. Offering outstanding customer service.
  10. Effectively relating to customers and communicating pertinent information clearly and relevantly.
  11. Possessing experience within the Financial Services Industry.
  12. Having strong English verbal and written communication skills.
  13. Understanding Consumer Duty.
  14. Having a good understanding of regulatory requirements and their impact on the business.
