Job summary

National Museums in Swindon is hiring a Collections Handler and Driver to move and care for a diverse range of objects, from fragile slides to large engineering items. You will join a dedicated Storage & Logistics team at the SIP site and support acquisitions, exhibitions and loans.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, confidence driving manual and automatic vans, and a proactive safety mindset. A C1 licence is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience in packing, moving or handling goods in a warehouse or similar setting is relevant.
• Health and safety awareness and PPE discipline are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assess, pack and move objects of various sizes and materials.
• Use appropriate equipment and follow safe working practices.
• Keep accurate location records in the system and coordinate with colleagues.
• Drive transit vans on-site and across England and Wales, with occasional overnight stays.
