Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Newbury is hiring a Collections Driver on a fixed-term contract for 6 months. The role is 20 hours per week, with a shift pattern across Monday to Sunday, 14:00-18:00.

You will deliver and collect mail along routes, check post-boxes, visit business customers, and ensure items reach processing centres on time. Requires a full UK manual driving licence with up to 6 penalty points and a positive, customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Must be able to walk long distances outdoors in all weather.
• Willing to work a flexible 20-hour rota across Mon-Sun.

Responsibilities

• Deliver items on route securely during 20-hour weekly shifts.
• Check post-boxes and collect items as required, including election materials.
• Sort mail and ensure correct delivery to processing centres.

Please note: For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.

As a Collection Driver, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
