Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Glasgow is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term of 9 months. You will sort, deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers.

The role is outdoors, physically demanding, with 28 hours per week on a rotating schedule, weekends possible, £13.68 per hour plus overtime. Full training provided and a uniform.

Job type: Fixed Term 9 Months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 28 Hourshours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 12:30/18:30*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
