Job summary

Royal Mail Group is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Inverclyde. The role is a fixed-term contract for 9 months, with a 30-hour week across five days in seven, including Sundays. Training, a uniform, and a Royal Mail van are provided.

You will deliver letters and parcels, require a full manual UK licence, and work outdoors in all weather. Roster may include weekend shifts and variable routes based on demand.

Location: Inverclyde Delivery Office, PA15 4RD

Job type: Fixed Termcontract(9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 08:45/16:30*

Sunday hours are between 11am and 6pm

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
