Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is currently recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a primary school in Colchester. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support across the primary age range, helping pupils with their learning, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

We are seeking patient and caring individuals who can support pupils with different learning needs, build positive relationships with staff, and promote an inclusive, nurturing learning environment. Start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Patient, caring and approachable
• Passionate about working with children
• Confident supporting pupils with different learning needs
• Calm and consistent when managing behaviour
• Reliable, adaptable and proactive
• A strong communicator and team player
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Previous experience in a school, childcare, SEN or support setting is desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across the primary age range
• Support children with their learning and classroom activities
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships
• Provide additional support to children with SEN and additional needs
• Assist with emotional and behavioural regulation
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
• Work closely with teachers and the wider support team
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual pupils' needs
• Promote an inclusive, safe and nurturing learning environment
• Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom
