Job description

Are you seeking a sense of purpose? Do you want to develop your skills and build social connections? Do you want to engage in a rewarding experience that benefits both you and the community? We are looking for friendly and approachable individuals to join our team as a Coffee Bar Support Volunteer.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Hours: Flexible between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday to Sunday. Flexibility is required as hours may vary depending on special events or activities.

You will assist with preparing and serving drinks and light refreshments, ensuring high-quality customer service. Your responsibilities include serving hot and cold beverages, taking payments, and reconciling the till at the end of your shifts.

Effective communication with colleagues and customers is essential to create a welcoming atmosphere. You should be proactive in keeping the area tidy and stocked, embodying a positive attitude and team spirit.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in hospitality, ideally within food and drink services. Experience with older persons schemes or similar is beneficial.
  • Excellent customer service skills, especially with vulnerable customers.
  • A proactive, positive team player with initiative and a willingness to face challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically.

Time, enthusiasm, and community spirit. A sympathetic approach to vulnerable customers, a positive attitude, and good workload prioritization are essential. Being a natural communicator and relationship builder will help you succeed.

Additional Information:

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role, which we will pay for.
