Job summary

The Groucho Club in London is seeking a Cocktail Waiter or Waitress who delivers memorable experiences, with energy and personality across our cocktail, wine, champagne and spirits offering. You’ll be the face of our bars, providing exceptional service to members and guests while confidently navigating our menu.

We value a warm, professional approach, strong drinks knowledge, and the ability to build relationships with regular members.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional drinks, snacks and bar food service across bars and member spaces.
• Greet and serve members and guests with warmth, confidence and professionalism.
• Build relationships with regular members and learn their preferences.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly.
• Guide members through the cocktail menu, wine list and champagne offerings.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations and promote additional items where appropriate.
• Serve drinks and food efficiently to high standards.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and anticipate needs.
• Contribute to a vibrant and welcoming bar floor atmosphere.
• Prepare and maintain immaculate waiter stations during shifts.
• Complete service prep, replenish stock and ready areas for service.
• Clear tables, maintain presentation and keep service areas tidy.
• Process bills accurately and collect payments promptly.
• Support responsible alcohol service and guest wellbeing.
• Handle member requests professionally and escalate when needed.

Cocktail Waiter /Waitress

We're looking for a Cocktail Waiter or Waitress who understands that great bar service is about more than delivering drinks. It's about creating memorable experiences, building genuine connections, and bringing energy and personality to every interaction.

You’ll be the face of our bars, providing exceptional service to members and guests while confidently navigating our cocktail, wine, champagne, and spirits offering. Whether you’re recommending the perfect drink, remembering a member's favourite cocktail, or ensuring seamless service during a busy evening, you’ll know that hospitality is all about anticipating needs and exceeding expectations.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, work closely with our bar team, and take pride in delivering outstanding service that keeps members and guests coming back.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Delivering exceptional drinks, snacks, and bar food service across our bars and member spaces.
• Greeting and serving members and guests with warmth, confidence, and professionalism.
• Building genuine relationships with regular members and becoming familiar with their preferences.
• Taking accurate food and beverage orders and entering them correctly into the ordering system.
• Confidently guiding members and guests through our cocktail menu, spirits selection, wine list, and champagne offerings.
• Providing knowledgeable recommendations and promoting additional items where appropriate.
• Serving drinks and food efficiently, and to the Club's high standards.
• Monitoring guest satisfaction and anticipating needs before they arise.
• Assisting in creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere on the bar floor.
• Preparing and maintaining immaculate waiter stations throughout your shift.
• Completing service preparation, replenishing stock, and ensuring all areas are ready for service.
• Clearing tables, maintaining presentation standards, and ensuring service areas remain clean and organised.
• Processing bills accurately and collecting payments promptly.
• Supporting responsible alcohol service and monitoring guest wellbeing.
• Handling member requests and concerns professionally, escalating issues when required.
