Job Description: Bartender at Cowley Manor

Located in the Cotswold, Cowley Manor is one of the most famous buildings in the country. The luxury boutique hotel features 31 rooms, a bar, a restaurant, an incredible terrace, fantastic grounds, and a stunning C-Side Spa.

Based in: Cowley, Cheltenham

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for bartenders with experience, knowledge of mixology, top presentation skills, ambition, and a friendly attitude. The ideal candidate must excel in all areas: cocktail preparation, cleanliness, guest relations, speech, and presentation.

Cocktails

• Learn the menu cocktails and classic cocktails, understanding the ingredients used.
• Prepare and serve high-quality cocktails, respecting our standards: use of jiggers, clean tools, swift service, and providing an excellent drinking experience without pretension.
• Communicate needs to servers and barbacks proactively.
• Participate in creating the cocktail menu.

Guest Relations

• Greet and interact with guests warmly.
• Ensure guests are seated, given menus, and well cared for, coordinating with servers.
• In the absence of servers, ensure guest needs are met.
• Create a welcoming environment, assess needs, suggest cocktails, and take drink orders.

Cleanliness and Bar Operations

• Handle opening and closing duties, including setup, cleaning, and waste disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout service.
• Follow food and beverage safety regulations.

Communication & Reporting

• Report inventory issues, guest feedback, and other updates to the Bar Manager.
• Follow management instructions and requests.

ABOUT YOU

• Experience in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of spirits and classic cocktails.
• Attention to detail and customer needs.
• Social, engaging, and motivated personality.
• Flexible and responsive to various work situations.
• Excellent communication skills and well-spoken.
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
