Fort Inn, Newquay is seeking a capable leader to motivate and manage a busy hospitality team. You will oversee guest experiences, support front and back‑of‑house operations, and ensure high standards across service, safety, and quality.

The role involves stepping in for the General Manager when needed, developing staff, and maintaining excellent cash handling and admin practices in a lively Cornwall pub setting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a service-focused environment.
• Strong customer service mindset with a guest-first approach.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Motivate a team and cover for the General Manager when needed.
• Create a warm welcome for guests and ensure first impressions are excellent.
• Monitor customer feedback and continuously raise service standards.
• Support front and back of house during peak times to maintain flow.
• Oversee consistent quality of food offerings and support the Kitchen team.
• Recognise when team members need help and provide support where needed.
• Keep admin and cash management systems running smoothly when the GM is away.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations in daily operations.
• Be a role model and develop team members for future growth.
• Pursue personal development with an eye toward becoming General Manager.
