Job summary

New Forest District Council is recruiting a Coastal Engineer (Career Grade) to support the FCERM service across a varied coastline. You will plan, design, procure and supervise maintenance programmes, working with the in-house team and external consultants on major coastal projects.

You should bring a coastal engineering or environmental background, a degree in a related field, and strong IT skills (AutoCAD and GIS). Hybrid working and an attractive package are on offer.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in a relevant environmental or engineering discipline.
• Sound contract management knowledge and practical problem solving.
• Experience with FCERM activities and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, procure and supervise coastal engineering maintenance.
• Support major coastal projects and provide technical support.
• Collaborate with Environment Agency and consultants on FCERM strategies.
