Job summary

Stagecoach is seeking a skilled bodywork technician to service our London-area bus fleet. You will join a supportive team responsible for keeping a mix of double and single deckers in top condition, including some electric buses.

We provide training and value adaptability across engineering disciplines. A background in heavy vehicle maintenance is helpful, but related engineering experience will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering field involving large vehicles preferred.
• Level 3 engineering qualification in heavy vehicles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the bodywork of Stagecoach buses.
• Repair or replace framework, panels, ramps, doors, upholstery and perform welding/painting as needed.
• Work as part of a team with Electricians, Mechanics and Technicians to keep the fleet in top condition.

Weekly Pay £ 931.88 based on experience

You've probably seen some of our vehicles driving around East London transporting our fantastic customers across London.

Those customers rely on our services to get them to work, to the high street, to hospitals, to days away and nights out - and as part of our engineering team you'll be a key part in making sure our vehicles are in tip top condition to do just that. It's a really important role within our depot, so we'll make sure you're as looked after as our vehicles are!

You'll have the responsibility of maintaining and repairing the bodywork our fleet of buses,. Our buses include modern double deckers and single deckers as well as some new Electric buses which are now in service with us.

Don't worry if you've not worked on these vehicles before (or indeed buses) - we'll train you on everything you need to know, and you'll be supported by a great team of fellow Electricians, Mechanics, Technicians, Storespeople, Administrators and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.

And there's plenty of variety - repairing or replacing framework, panels, ramps, doors, upholstery and even welding and painting - so if your up for the challenge we need you.

You don't have to come from a bus background (but we wouldn't be put off if you did either!), but ideally you will need to have worked in an engineering field involving large vehicles - truck, haulage, automotive, plant, rail, farm - if it is large and it moves, it's good experience for working on buses!

It would be desirable for you a Level 3 engineering qualification in heavy vehicles.
