Job summary

Perfect Placement is recruiting for a Vehicle Coachbuilder role based at Trafford Park, Manchester. This permanent position offers a 44-hour week, no weekend work, and overtime opportunities in a reputable commercial vehicle manufacturer.

You will build, install, and finish vehicle bodies, reading engineering drawings and working with insulated panels on refrigerated vehicles. The role requires strong mechanical skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work both independently and as part of

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle bodybuilding or similar manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings.
• Experience operating a range of hand and workshop tools.
• Strong practical and mechanical skills with keen attention to detail.
• Reliable and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Building, fitting, and finishing commercial vehicle bodies to high standards.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Installing insulated panels on refrigerated and freezer vehicles.
• Using hand tools, bench saws, and measurement equipment safely and effectively.
• Cutting and shaping metals, timber, and plastics with hand and workshop tools.
• Performing electrical termination work for lighting, switches, and tail lifts.
• Sealing joints, floors, and roofs with silicone and gel coatings.
• Working independently to meet production deadlines.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Following all health and safety, quality control, and manufacturing procedures.
• Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.

Requirements of a Coachbuilder

• Previous experience in vehicle bodybuilding, coachbuilding, or similar manufacturing environments
