Job summary

Nottingham College is seeking an Apprenticeships Teaching Assistant to support learners in achieving qualifications for their vocational courses. The role involves planning, delivering and assessing in the workplace, managing a caseload of apprentices and maintaining E-portfolios with timely reviews.

Ideal candidates will have TA level 3, an assessing qualification, and strong communication skills. The position is fixed-term until 31 July 2027, 18.5 hours across 3 days with flexible scheduling,

Qualifications

  • Experience within the sector in the last 5 years.
  • Holding an assessing qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, design and deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Manage a caseload of apprentices and their E-portfolios, with timely completion.
  • Achieve KPIs including reviews, attendance, and learner journey records.
  • Inspire apprentices to achieve excellence and potential.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet employer needs.

Job description

We are looking for a candidate with experience of Apprenticeships as a teaching assistant to join our team, supporting our learners to achieve the skills, knowledge and behaviours of their vocational course. Key duties and responsibilities include: -Plan, prepare, design and deliver high quality teaching learning and assessment in the workplace -Take responsibility for a caseload of apprentices and their E-portfolios, ensuring timely completion within agreed and appropriate timescales. -Ensure KPI's are achieved such as completing reviews, off the job is recorded and up to date, monitoring of attendance, recording of the learner journey, timely completion, etc. -Motivate and inspire all apprentices so that they are supported to achieve excellence and are encouraged to achieve their full potential including higher grades. -Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the employer's needs are met Please note, this is a fixed term position until 31st July 2027, working 18.5 hours over 3 days per week. Flexibility with which days each week.

The ideal candidate will come from industry or have previous assessing experience experience as a teaching assistant with a particular focus on Apprenticeships. You will have strong communication skills both written and verbal and be proactive in organising your workload. Essential skills and experience include: -Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (minimum level 3) - Experience within the sector (last 5 years) -Hold an assessing qualification or equivalent -Understanding and experience of the delivery and assessment in subject area -Demonstrate exceptional organisational and planning skills with ability to manage own diary -A willingness to update own professional development -Able to work effectively as a member of a team and have experience of successful team working and be committed to a team-based approach
