Job summary

Nottingham College is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support Apprenticeships, helping learners achieve the skills, knowledge and behaviours of their vocational course. You will plan, deliver and assess teaching activities, manage a caseload of apprentices and their e-portfolios, and ensure timely completion within required timescales.

The role is fixed term until 31 July 2027, 18.5 hours across 3 days per week, with flexibility on days.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (minimum level 3).
• Experience within the sector (last 5 years).
• Hold an assessing qualification or equivalent.
• Understanding and experience of the delivery and assessment in subject area.
• Demonstrate exceptional organisational and planning skills with ability to manage own diary.
• A willingness to update own professional development.
• Able to work effectively as a member of a team and have experience of successful team working and be committed to a team-based approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, design and deliver high quality teaching learning and assessment in the workplace.
• Take responsibility for a caseload of apprentices and their E-portfolios, ensuring timely completion within agreed and appropriate timescales.
• Ensure KPI's are achieved such as completing reviews, off the job is recorded and up to date, monitoring of attendance, recording of the learner journey, timely completion, etc.
• Motivate and inspire all apprentices so that they are supported to achieve excellence and are encouraged to achieve their full potential including higher grades.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the employer's needs are met.
