Qualifications

• Strong skills in vehicle maintenance and repair for commercial and specialist vehicles.
• Experience in collision repair and auto body work, including structural repairs, panel replacement and finishing.
• Proficiency in paint preparation and application, with attention to detail and finish quality.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, build specifications, and work from concept designs.
• Competence with hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication techniques relevant to coach and vehicle building.
• Commitment to health and safety practices and safe workshop operations.
• Effective communication and teamwork with designers, project managers and other technicians.
• Prior experience in coachbuilding, vehicle conversions or specialist automotive fabrication is beneficial.
• Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in automotive body repair or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle condition and determine repair requirements.
• Carry out bodywork repairs and maintenance to meet safety and quality standards.
• Prepare and paint surfaces to achieve high-quality finishes.
• Manufacture, assemble and fit bespoke components for coachbuilt vehicles.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers and technicians to translate concepts into roadworthy vehicles.
• Support maintenance and repair activities and help improve build processes and workmanship.
• Troubleshoot issues and contribute to process improvements.
