Job summary

Machine Mart are seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Cambridge to help run the store alongside the Store Manager. You will lead a small team and share responsibility for day-to-day operations, ensuring a high standard of customer service.

This role requires motivation, numeracy, and a proactive attitude to meet sales targets, coach staff, and build rapport with customers while promoting our range of power tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a retail customer service or sales environment.
• Supervisory or junior management experience in retail or field sales.
• Knowledge of our product range and ability to sell it.
• Strong customer service, achieving sales targets and teamwork.
• Numeracy, accuracy, and basic computer literacy.
• Self-motivation and a can-do attitude; desire to lead with the team.

Responsibilities

• Share joint responsibility for day-to-day store operations.
• Co-manage a small team of 4-6 staff.
• Work up to 45 hours per week with overtime pay or time off in lieu.
• Motivate the team to deliver great customer experience and meet sales targets.
• Build rapport with customers and guide them through choices.
