Job summary
Optima UK INC Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join our precision engineering team. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC machines to produce high-integrity components for automotive, aerospace and defence sectors.
You will work with nickel alloys, stainless steel, titanium, aluminium and carbon steel, reading complex drawings and ensuring tight tolerances. Applicants should have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and at least three years in precision machining.
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship trained, time-served or NVQ Level 3 or above.
- Minimum of three years' experience in a precision machining role.
- Vertical turning or boring experience.
- Experience working to high-precision tolerances.
- Fanuc or Siemens control experience preferred.
- Experience in nuclear, power generation or aerospace industries advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Programming, setting and operating CNC machines.
- Proving out new programmes.
- Machining high-integrity components to precise tolerances.
- Reading and interpreting complex drawings.
- Using workshop measuring equipment.
- Carrying out periodic equipment maintenance checks.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes.
