Job summary

Syntech Recruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on CNC Turning Team Leader in Woking to manage a team of CNC Turners, machinists and apprentices. You will drive production priorities, ensure quality and lead continuous improvement within a modern machine shop.

You will guide programming, setting and machining operations, read drawings, and support NPI projects with Engineering while mentoring staff and achieving targets.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience managing CNC turning teams.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tolerances.
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
• Experience with Mazatrol controls and multi-axis lathes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of CNC Turners, manual machinists and apprentices.
• Coordinate daily production priorities to achieve quality and delivery targets.
• Monitor KPIs including productivity, machine utilisation, quality and scrap.
• Provide technical support with CNC programming, setting and machining operations.
• Support process optimisation, tooling selection and fixture improvements.
• Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances when required.
• Review engineering drawings and manufacturing methods.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development.
