Job summary

Thrive Personnel is seeking an experienced CNC Turner / Machinist to join a skilled production team in Leeds. You will set and operate turning machines, including sliding head and twin turret lathes, with occasional programme editing to meet tight tolerances and production schedules.

The role requires a hands-on, logic-driven approach, strong problem-solving ability, and dedication to 5S, quality, health and safety.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained or qualified in Mechanical Engineering with hands-on CNC experience.
• Proven track record of producing quality components on time and in full.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate a variety of CNC machines including sliding head, twin turret and chucking lathes.
• Carry out batch production to meet volume, cost and quality targets.
• Perform first-off and last-off inspections and routine quality checks.
• Maintain 5S standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and keep the workstation clean and safe.
