ThriveOldham is working with a well-established client in the Shipley area to recruit a CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator for CNC turning. You will program, set and operate CNC turning machines, read engineering drawings, select tooling, edit programs, and conduct first-off inspections to ensure quality components.

This role offers a 4 days (Mon-Thu) 7am-5pm with 45min dinner and an immediate start, with pay from £17.50+ depending on skill level.

Formación

• Proven knowledge of programming languages.

• Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
• Proven skills within a multi-axis machining environment.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and process improvement.

What you will be doing:

• Program, set, and operate CNC turning machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and job instructions.
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for each job.
• Edit and optimise CNC programs to improve efficiency and quality.
• Conduct first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
• Ensure components are manufactured to the required quality standards and tolerances.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot any machining issues.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Comply with all health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Accurately complete production documentation and records.

What you will need to succeed:

• Proven knowledge and experience of programming languages.
• Experience of Setting/ Milling/ Turning
• Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
• Proven skills withing a multi-axis machining environment.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and process improvement techniques.
• lathes, producing high-precision components.
