Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd in Billericay is seeking an experienced CNC Turner / Setter Operator to join a precision engineering team. You will set and operate CNC turning machines, including Citizen and Miyano, and read engineering drawings to ensure tight tolerances.

The role offers a temporary-to-permanent contract with pay of £20–£24 per hour plus overtime. Experience with fixed or sliding head lathes is preferred, with scope to progress into CNC programming.

Qualifications

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Experience with fixed or sliding head lathes.
• Experience with Citizen and/or Miyano machines would be advantageous.
• The ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• A genuine interest in developing your CNC programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC Turning machines.
• Working with fixed or sliding head machines.
• Operating machines including Citizen and Miyano.
• Editing and adjusting existing CNC programmes.
• Inspecting your own work to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Developing your CNC programming skills, with the opportunity to progress further.
