Job summary

Contek Recruitment are seeking a CNC Turner to join a precision engineering group in a new Nuneaton facility. Role covers Programmer/Setter/Operator on CNC lathes with driven tooling, using Siemens controls, for high-value components in defence and aerospace sectors.

The position is permanent, 39 hours weekly with overtime paid at time-and-a-half. Hourly rate £19-20 depending on experience and capability, with excellent opportunities in a growing UK engineering group.

Qualifications

• Strong experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes with driven tooling.
• Good working knowledge of Siemens controls.
• Proven ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Practical, quality-focused approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating a range CNC lathes with driven tooling
• Programming at the machine using Siemens controls
• Machining complex and high-value components
• Producing one-off and low-volume precision-engineered parts
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
• Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining strategies
• Carrying out in-process inspection and maintaining high quality standards
• Working closely with engineering and production colleagues to improve machining processes and reduce cycle times
• Working to tight deadlines
