Job summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd, based in Billericay, Essex, is seeking a CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join a small precision engineering team. You will set and run CNC turning machines, produce components to drawings, and work on sliding-head or fixed-head lathes with Fanuc or Citizen controls.

The role emphasizes ability to read drawings, set tooling and offsets, and conduct first-off and in-process inspection.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC turning machinery in a precision engineering environment.
• Programming experience is not essential as programmes are generated offline.
• Experience with Citizen sliding-head machinery or Fanuc-controlled turning is advantageous.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Able to work independently within a small engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC turning machinery.
• Edit existing CNC programmes at the machine.
• Read engineering drawings and set tooling, offsets and workholding.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
