Job summary

ESS Employment is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Setter/Programmer in Yate to join a permanent role. You will operate Fanuc turning machines, set tooling and datums, inspect parts, and work with engineering to improve efficiency while maintaining safety and quality.

The position involves producing components to tight tolerances, using micrometers, verniers and CMM/Opticline inspection tools. Expect to collaborate with engineers and manufacturing staff in a busy production environment.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of operating CNC machines with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
• Capable of fully setting CNC machines, fixtures and tools.
• Experience using micrometers, verniers, bore/plug gauges for inspection.
• Understanding speeds, feeds and optimization for efficient production.
• Able to produce components to drawing tolerances and specs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to quality.
• Experience with CMM/Opticline inspection equipment.

CNC TURNER SETTER / PROGRAMMER

ESS Employment are seeking an CNC Turner Setter / Programmer to work for an established company. The successful candidate will assist in the manufacturing of parts through the production process, ensuring planned times for setting and manufacturing are met or improved; and high-quality parts produced within required performance, cost and delivery targets.

Responsibilities:

• Set and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC turning machines.
• Produce precision components to drawing and customer specifications.
• Set tooling, manufacture soft jaws, and establish machine datums.
• Inspect components using precision measuring equipment.
• Optimise cycle times while maintaining quality and safety.
• Troubleshoot tooling, programme, and machine issues.
• Complete production documentation and support continuous improvement.
• You will work closely with engineers and other manufacturing personnel to optimize production processes and achieve efficient and accurate machining operations.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform in-process inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment – Zero Tolerance to safety.
• Knowledge of machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines, specifically Fanuc Controls.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Able to fully set CNC machines, including installing workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools, and datum all tools and work shifts.
• Engineering, drawing interpretation and GD&T.
• Use of varies measuring Equipment: Micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and plug gauges.
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and Engineering drawings is essential.
• Understanding machine parameters, speeds, feeds, and optimization techniques for efficient production.
• Ability to produce components to drawing tolerance and specifications, efficiently and accurately as required by internal and external customer specifications.
• Excellent Problem-Solving Skills.
