Job summary

First Base in Bristol is seeking a CNC Turner Setter Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. You will set and run Fanuc-controlled CNC turning machines to manufacture components from engineering drawings.

The role also covers tooling setup, first-off inspection, and in-process checks, with shift premiums depending on pattern. Salary ranges from £26,102 to £48,272 per annum, with opportunities to progress for programmers and setters.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to set, adjust and operate CNC turning machines; programming experience is desirable.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and hold tight tolerances.
• Proficient with measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and plug gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive learning attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components as per drawings.
• Set tooling, establish datums, and perform first-off and in-process inspection.
• Monitor machining performance, troubleshoot tooling/programming issues, ensure quality and production targets.
• Complete production documentation accurately while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain safe working practices and comply with company procedures.
