Job summary

JRS Associates LTD, partnering with an aerospace precision engineering company in Leicester, is seeking an experienced CNC Turner – Setter / Operator for the night shift.

You will set and operate Mazak turning centres, read and edit CNC programs, and produce right-first-time components to tight tolerances in a clean, well-invested machining environment. 46.4 hours weekly, 18:00–06:00, permanent full-time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in aerospace or automotive precision machining.
• Apprentice trained or equivalent hands-on background.
• Confident setting and operating Mazak CNC turning centres.
• Read, edit, and control CNC programs per company procedures.
• Experience with tight tolerances and right-first-time components.
• Competent using micrometers, verniers, height gauges, CMMs, and shadow graphs.
• High attention to detail with quality and accuracy.
• Positive, team-focused attitude with structured production plans.
• TPM/basic machine maintenance experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate Mazak CNC turning centres.
• Read and edit CNC programs in line with procedures.
• Produce right-first-time, tight-tolerance components.
• Use inspection tools: micrometers, verniers, height gauges, CMMs, shadow graphs.
• Work to structured production plans and TPM concepts.

JRS Associates have partnered up with an exciting aerospace precision engineering company in Leicester to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Turner – Setter / Operator to join their night shift team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded precision manufacturer supplying complex, tight-tolerance components to the aerospace and defence sectors, operating within a clean, well-invested machining environment.

The Successful CNC Turner – Setter / Operator – Package:

• Salary: £53,564.16 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)
• Shift Pattern: 46.4 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday
  • 18:00 – 06:00
• Permanent, full-time

The Successful CNC Turner – Setter / Operator – Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in aerospace or automotive precision machining
• Apprentice trained or equivalent hands‑on engineering background
• Confident setting and operating CNC turning centres, specifically Mazak lathes
• Strong understanding of datum setting, tooling offsets, and cutting parameters
• Ability to read, edit, and control CNC programs in line with company procedures
• Experienced working to tight tolerances and producing right-first-time components
• Competent using inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, CMMs, and shadow graphs
• High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy
• Positive, team-focused attitude with the ability to work to structured production plans
• Experience carrying out TPM / basic machine maintenance is desirable
