Job summary

ABS Talent Ltd is recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner (Programmer / Setter / Operator) on behalf of a well-established engineering client in Dudley. The role focuses on programming, setting and operating Fanuc CNC lathes, turning large components up to ~2 tonnes, and inspecting parts to tight tolerances.

The successful candidate will read engineering drawings, select tooling, and optimise processes for quality and efficiency, while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter / Operator.
• Confident programming on Fanuc controls.
• Experience turning larger / heavier components an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Comfortable working to tight tolerances in a precision environment.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes (Fanuc controls).

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000

The opportunity

ABS Talent is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner (Programmer / Setter / Operator) on behalf of a well-established engineering client specialising in precision turning of large, heavy components – up to around 2 tonnes.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled turner who's comfortable working on the bigger side of precision machining, to join a busy shop working with substantial, high-value components.

The role

• Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes (Fanuc controls)
• Precision turning of large / heavy components – up to circa 2 tonnes
• Working to engineering drawings and tight tolerances
• Selecting tooling and optimising machining processes for quality and efficiency
• Carrying out in-process and final inspection using precision measuring equipment
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area

About you

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter / Operator
• Confident programming on Fanuc controls
• Experience turning larger / heavier components an advantage
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Comfortable working to tight tolerances in a precision environment
• Reliable, quality-focused and a good team player
• Overhead crane / slinging experience useful (for handling large components)
