Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Limited in Leighton Buzzard is seeking a CNC Turner & Programmer to write new programs from scratch for 2-axis turning machines. Fanuc experience is preferred but not essential.

You will read engineering drawings, set up tooling, and run full machine setup from first article through to finished components, including materials, speeds and feeds. Hoist training is provided, and a late-shift premium applies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines.
• Strong knowledge of G-code programming and full machine setup from drawings to finished component.
• Ability to edit and optimise existing CNC programs.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, surface finish and in-process inspection.
• Experience producing one-off and low-to-medium-volume precision components in metals.
• Hoist training provided.

Job description

CNC Turner & Programmer required for a well-established precision engineering company based in Leighton Buzzard. The successful candidate will need to be able to write new CNC programs from scratch with little or no supervision. Ideally Fanuc controls experience but not essential.

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines
• Strong working knowledge of G-code programming. Confident completing the full machine set-up from engineering drawing to finished component, including material, tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting conditions.
• Able to edit and optimise existing programs where required.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, surface finishes and in-process inspection.
• Experience producing one-off and low-to-medium-volume precision components in a range of hard and soft metals.
• Confident working on parts from approximately 25 mm x 100 mm up to 300 mm x 3 m. Hoist training is provided.
• Late-shift premium paid at time plus one third.
• 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays, plus additional Christmas shutdown holiday.
