Job summary

CNC Turner & Programmer position in Leighton Buzzard requiring proven experience programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines. You will manage G-code programs, complete full machine set-up from drawing to finished component, and edit/optimise existing programs.

The role offers a four-day week and a generous benefits package, with a salary range of £50,654-£57,319 per year inclusive of late-shift premium. Pension, healthcare, 28 days holiday, plus Christmas shutdown are included.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines.
• Strong working knowledge of G-code programming.
• Full machine set-up from engineering drawing to finished component, including material, tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting conditions.
• Able to edit and optimise existing programs where required.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, surface finishes and in-process inspection.
• Experience producing one-off and low-to-medium-volume precision components in a range of hard and soft metals.
• Confident working on parts from approximately Ø25 mm x 100 mm up to Ø300 mm x 3 m.
• Hoist training is provided.

Remuneration Salary-

£50,654-£57,319 per annum including late-shift premium

• Four-day week: Monday-Wednesday 4.30 pm-3.30 am; Thursday 4.30 pm-1.00 am.
• Late-shift premium paid at time plus one third.
• 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays, plus additional Christmas shutdown holiday.
