Job summary

Workforce Recruitment and Training seeks an experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a busy precision engineering team in Chadderton, Greater Manchester. You will program, set and operate Prototrak and Siemens-controlled machines to produce high-quality components from drawings and samples.

The role requires extensive Proturn 555 and 425 experience, a good grasp of tight tolerances, and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced jobbing environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience programming, setting and operating Proturn 555 and 425.
• Conventional machining experience is a strong advantage.
• Siemens control experience would be beneficial.
• Experience in a fast-paced jobbing environment is desirable.
• Ability to work to close tolerances and deadlines.
• Confident work from samples, sketches and drawings.
• Strong mechanical engineering background and reverse engineering experience.

Location: Chadderton, Greater Manchester

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30

Job Overview

An experienced Programmer / Setter / Operator is required to join a busy and expanding precision engineering team. The role involves programming, setting, and operating Prototrak and Siemens-controlled machines to produce high-quality, precision-engineered components.

Work is fast-paced and varied, consisting mainly of one-off and small batch production manufactured from drawings, samples, and sketches for customers across a range of industrial sectors.

Experience Requirements

• Extensive experience programming, setting, and operating XYZ Proturn 555 and 425
• Conventional machining experience would be a strong advantage
• Siemens control experience would be beneficial
• Experience working in a similar fast-paced, jobbing environment
• Ability to work to close tolerances and tight deadlines
• Confident working from samples, sketches, and engineering drawings
• Strong mechanical engineering background in light to medium engineering
• Proven experience carrying out repair work and reverse engineering
