Job summary

Workforce Staffing Ltd is seeking a skilled CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator in Greater Manchester. The role focuses on programming, setting and operating Prototrak and Siemens-controlled machines to produce high-precision components.

You will work from drawings and samples on one-off and small-batch runs, requiring meticulous attention to tolerances and tight deadlines in a busy engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer.
• Extensive experience programming, setting & operating Proturn 555 and 425.
• Conventional machining experience would be a strong advantage.
• Siemens control experience would be beneficial.
• Experience in a fast-paced jobbing environment.
• Ability to work to close tolerances and tight deadlines.
• Strong mechanical engineering background.
• Proven experience carrying out repair work and reverse engineering.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate Prototrak and Siemens machines to produce precision components.
• Work from drawings, samples and sketches for one-off and small-batch jobs.
• Maintain tight tolerances and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform repair work and reverse engineering as needed.

Job description

Position: CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator - Prototrak or Siemens

Location: Chadderton, Greater Manchester

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30
• Friday: 08:00 - 15:30
• 30 minutes unpaid break
• 39 paid hours per week

Salary

• £18.80 per hour
• £38,126 basic per annum

Job Overview

An experienced Programmer / Setter / Operator is required to join a busy and expanding precision engineering team. The role involves programming, setting, and operating Prototrak and Siemens-controlled machines to produce high-quality, precision-engineered components.

Work is fast-paced and varied, consisting mainly of one-off and small batch production manufactured from drawings, samples, and sketches for customers across a range of industrial sectors.

Experience Requirements

• Time-served engineer
• Extensive experience programming, setting, and operating XYZ Proturn 555 and 425
• Conventional machining experience would be a strong advantage
• Siemens control experience would be beneficial
• Experience working in a similar fast-paced, jobbing environment
• Ability to work to close tolerances and tight deadlines
• Confident working from samples, sketches, and engineering drawings
• Strong mechanical engineering background in light to medium engineering
• Proven experience carrying out repair work and reverse engineering
