Job summary

Optical Precision in Aylesbury is seeking a CNC Turner, Programmer Setter to join their precision engineering team. The role involves programming, setting and operating Doosan lathes to exact tolerances in a modern factory environment.

You will work from engineering drawings, perform tool changes and offsets, inspect parts with micrometers and gauges, and contribute to quality control across aerospace, automotive and other sectors. A 4-day week and overtime are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC Doosan lathes or Fanuc controls.
• Setting & operating skills required.
• Mechanical Engineering qualification or suitable apprenticeship.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate Doosan lathes.
• Load and unload parts.
• Perform basic offsets, tool changes and adjustments.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, Vernier calipers and gauges.
• Work from engineering drawings to BS/ISO standards.

A very successful specialist precision engineering company which were established over 40 years ago are looking for a CNC Turner, Programmer, Setter to join their growing team in their modern factory in Aylesbury. The company specialise in the manufacture of high quality tooling solutions supplying various industries both throughout the UK and overseas including Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas and Motorsport.

Duties - CNC Turner, Programmer Setter - Fanuc

• Programming setting & operating Doosan lathes


• Performing basic offsets. program changes and tool/tip changeovers.


• Loading and unloading of parts.


• Deburring in cycle.


• Quality Inspection of parts using micrometers, Vernier’s and gauges.


• Working from Engineering drawings to BS / ISO standards.

Requirements - CNC Turner, Programmer Setter - Fanuc

• Experience with CNC Doosan lathes is highly desirable or Fanuc


• Setting & operating skills are a must and preference will be given to those candidates with programming experience.


• The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering qualification or suitable apprenticeship, but a long proven track record could also suffice


• Ability to interpret and work to Engineering drawings.


• Ability to plan and work from own initiative, with minimum supervision.


• Applicants will need to demonstrate attention to detail and reliability.
