Job summary

ABS Talent is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer on behalf of a well-established precision engineering client. This permanent, hands-on role requires someone who can programme, set and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components to tight tolerances.

The client offers a stable engineering environment with a well-equipped shop and a supportive team, ideal for a turner who takes pride in quality work. Location is Romsey, salary £45,000, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter / Operator.
• Confident programming on Fanuc controls (manual programming an advantage).
• Experience on twin-turret / twin-spindle lathes (Doosan or similar).
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines (Fanuc controls).
• Produce precision components to drawings and tight tolerances.
• Work across twin-turret and twin-spindle lathes; select tooling and optimise processes.
• In-process and final inspection using precision measuring equipment.

ABS Talent is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer on behalf of a well-established precision engineering client. This is a permanent, hands-on role for a skilled turner who can programme, set and operate CNC lathes to a high standard, producing precision components to tight tolerances.

The role

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines (Fanuc controls)
• Producing precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances
• Working across twin-turret and twin-spindle lathes
• Selecting tooling and optimising machining processes for quality and efficiency
• In-process and final inspection using precision measuring equipment
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area

About you

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter / Operator
• Confident programming on Fanuc controls (manual programming an advantage)
• Experience on twin-turret / twin-spindle lathes (Doosan or similar)
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused, reliable approach
• Time-served or relevant qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ) welcomed
