Job summary

Rubicon People Partnership is seeking a CNC Turner for a night shift in Ferndown. You will programme, set and operate Mazak turning centres, ensuring first-off quality and tight tolerances.

Mazatrol and ISO G-code proficiency, plus GD&T reading, are essential for this role. With 3–5+ years of CNC turning experience, you’ll work the 8:30pm–7:00am night shift, Monday to Thursday, enjoying a four-day week and a death-in-service benefit while advancing skills in continuous improvement on advanced

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years' CNC turning experience with Mazak programming and setup.
• Proficiency in Mazatrol and ISO G-code editing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings with GD&T knowledge.
• Understanding of speeds, feeds and tool geometry.
• Proactive problem-solving and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Programme Mazak lathes using Mazatrol and ISO G-code.
• Set and prove out jobs on Mazak Quick Turn, Nexus, Smooth or Integrex.
• Run CNC turning operations to tight tolerances.
• Perform first off and in-process inspections with micrometers and gauges.
• Maintain a safe, 5S-compliant work area.

You know Mazak inside out, and you take real pride in getting a first off right before it ever reaches inspection.
This is a role where your programming and setting skills are relied on from the moment you clock in.

As a CNC Turner (Nightshift):

• 4 day working week, Monday to Thursday
• Permanent night shift, 8:30pm to 7:00am
• Death in service benefit

As a CNC Turner (Nightshift):

• Programme Mazak CNC lathes using Mazatrol and ISO G-code
• Set and prove out jobs on Mazak Quick Turn, Nexus, Smooth or Integrex machines
• Run CNC turning operations to produce precision components within tight tolerances
• Perform first off and in-process inspections using micrometers, verniers and gauges
• Maintain a safe and organised work area in line with 5S standards

As a CNC Turner (Nightshift):

• 3-5+ years' CNC turning experience, with proven ability to programme, set and operate Mazak machines
• Strong knowledge of Mazatrol and/or Smooth controls, plus ISO G-code editing
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&T
• Understanding of cutting speeds, feeds and tool geometry across materials
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining quality standards
