Job summary

Kingston Barnes Engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to set and operate Fanuc-controlled turning machines. The role includes setting tooling, fixtures and datums, producing components to tight tolerances, and performing in-process inspections.

Qualifications

• In-depth experience setting and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC turning machines.
• Fully setting CNC machines, including fixtures, workpieces and cutting tools, with datums and offsets.
• Strong GD&T interpretation and drawing reading skills.
• Experience using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and plug gauges.
• Ability to produce components to drawing tolerances and customer specs.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC turning machines.
• Set tooling, workholding and datums; prepare tooling for production.
• Produce precision components to spec and inspection requirements.
• Read engineering drawings and GD&T; monitor speeds, feeds and cycle times.
• Carry out in-process inspections and document results.
• Troubleshoot tooling, programming and machine issues.
• Maintain setup sheets, inspection reports and tool lists.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve processes and efficiency.
• Adhere to quality, safety and company policies.
