Job summary

Metalis Recruitment Group is partnering with a Sheffield-based engineering company to recruit a CNC Turner. You will set, program and operate CNC lathes, reading drawings to produce components up to 10 metres long and 40 tonnes in weight.

The role requires apprentice training or NVQ/HNC/HND/ONC, plus experience in a CNC environment and familiarity with Fagor controls; an overhead crane licence is advantageous. Monday–Friday, 6am–2:30pm with overtime available.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC lathes and setting tools.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Familiar with Fagor controls and associated programming.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and program CNC lathes.
• Read and work from engineering drawings.
• Work on parts up to 40 tonnes and up to 10 metres long.
• Program machines using Fagor controls.
• Work with materials such as steels and superalloys.

Metalis are working with a leading engineering company in Sheffield, who are looking for a CNC Turner to join their team.

Job Duties

• Set, operate and program CNC lathes
• Read and work from engineering drawings
• Work on parts up to 40 tonnes
• Work on parts up to 10 metre in lengths
• Program the machines using Fagor controls
• Work with materials such as steels, superalloys etc.

Job Requirements

• Apprentice Trained or relevant Engineering Qualifications (NVQ/HNC/HND/ONC)
• Experience within CNC environment
• Experience with Fagor controls
• Overhead crane (experience or licence)

Salary, Shift & Benefits

• £16.00 - £19.00 per hour
• Monday to Friday, 6am - 2:30pm
• Overtime available (subject to workload)
