Job summary

Travail Employment Group is assisting a precision engineering company in Harrogate to recruit a skilled CNC Turner, Lathe Setter Operator for their production team.

You will set and operate CNC lathes with Fanuc or Heidenhain controls, read engineering drawings, and manufacture parts to tight tolerances in a quality-driven environment. Overtime and a supportive team are offered.

£19.00 per hour (incl. shift allowance)

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected precision engineering company known for manufacturing high-precision components for demanding industries. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled CNC Turner, Lathe Setter Operator to join their established production team.

The Role:

• Set and operate CNC lathes with Fanuc & Heidenhain controls
• Carry out tool changes, offsets, and basic programme edits
• Manufacture high-quality components to tight tolerances
• Work from engineering drawings to produce first-offs and batch work
• Maintain high standards in line with AS9100 / ISO 13485

Shift Pattern:

Early Shift:

• Mon -Thurs: 6:00am - 2:00pm
• Fri: 6:00am - 12:30pm

Late Shift:

• Mon -Wed: 2:00pm - 12:30am
• Thurs: 2:00pm - 10:30pm
• Fri: Day off

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner / CNC Lathe Operator
• Experience setting and operating CNC machines
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• Knowledge of Fanuc or Heidenhain controls

Desirable:

• Apprentice trained or engineering qualification
• Experience with multiple materials (metals / polymers)
• 5-axis or mill-turn experience
• Basic CNC programming
