Job summary

Aspion is seeking an experienced CNC Turner/Machinist to join our established engineering team in Irlam, Greater Manchester. You will program, set and operate CNC Turner machines to produce precise components from engineering drawings.

The role requires a solid background with Fanuc and Doosan controls, ISO turning programs, and a good grasp of GD&T, tooling, and quality checks. This position is on site with standard forestry schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' CNC turning/machining experience or time-served apprenticeship.
• Able to read, understand and edit ISO turning programs.
• Strong CNC programming and setting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC Turner.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Set tooling, offsets, chucks and machine parameters.
• Carry out first-off and dimensional checks.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs.
• Maintain quality and safety standards.

Position: Permanent
Salary:£21-£24 Per Hour
Hours:Monday-Thursday 8:30AM-5PM Friday 8:30AM-3:30PM

The Role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner / CNC Machinist to join a well-established engineering business in Irlam.

You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC Turner, producing components accurately from engineering drawings and working to required tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC Turner
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
• Set tooling, offsets, chucks and machine parameters
• Carry out first-off and dimensional checks
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs
• Maintain quality and safety standards

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years' CNC turning/machining experience or time-served apprenticeship
• Able to read, understand and edit ISO turning programs
• Strong CNC programming and setting knowledge
• Live tooling and sub-spindle experience advantageous
• Good understanding of tooling and insert selection
• CMM and PTFE machining experience advantageous
• Proven experience within Fanuc and Doosan controls
