Job summary

Skilled CNC Turner role based in Accrington, Lancashire. You will program, set and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture high-quality components in a busy, precision engineering environment.

Ideal candidates will read engineering drawings, maintain tight tolerances and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 38 hours per week, with early start times and a focus on productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years' experience operating CNC turning machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls.
• Follow tooling sheets and offline programming instructions.
• Download, manage and save CNC programs following successful inspection of machined parts.
• Operate manual machining equipment when required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Change tooling and adjust offsets to maintain tolerances.
• Monitor product quality and productivity throughout manufacturing process.
• Work toward production targets and customer delivery deadlines.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and minimise waste.
• Follow health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and continuous improvement activities.
• Report machine, quality or safety concerns to management.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and organised.

Skilled CNC Turner

Location: Accrington, Lancashire

Salary: £16.50 - £19.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 6:55am - 4:55pm

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled CNC Turner to join a busy and established precision engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machinery to manufacture high-quality components to customer specifications.

This role would suit an experienced machinist who is confident working from engineering drawings, maintaining tight tolerances, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the machine shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls.
• Follow tooling sheets and offline programming instructions.
• Download, manage and save CNC programs following successful inspection of machined parts.
• Operate manual machining equipment when required.
• Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Change tooling and adjust offsets to maintain tolerances and drawing requirements.
• Monitor product quality and productivity throughout the manufacturing process.
