Job summary

KPJ Group in Stockport is seeking a CNC Turner to join a fast-growing, market-leading manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC milling machines, read drawings, and ensure parts meet specifications.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00am–3:30pm, early finish on Fridays, onsite parking, and a supportive management team with long-term progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of running CNC machining centres.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• NVQ 2-3 Engineering/Machining or HNC/HND with machining apprenticeship (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines.
• Retrieve and input CNC programs from the network with paperwork.
• Select tools, equipment and materials for machining.
• Perform Start of Work machine inspections before shifts.
• Report machine faults or unusual occurrences using Maintenance Procedures.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure parts meet specs.

Job description

We’re hiring for a CNC Turner to contribute to the success of a fast growing, market leading manufacturer based in Stockport. This is a full-time permanent position, with further opportunities to grow and develop within the company.

What will you be doing as a CNC Turner?

• Setting up and operating CNC milling machines, retrieving and inputting CNC programs from the network in accordance with appropriate paperwork
• Selecting appropriate tools, equipment, and materials in preparation for machining
• Performing “Start of Work” machine inspections prior to commencing shifts
• Reporting machine faults or unusual occurrences via approved Maintenance Reporting Procedures
• Reading and understanding engineering drawings to ensure all machined parts conform to drawing and planning specifications
• Measuring, examining, and visually inspecting components to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers and verniers, according to drawing specifications

• Previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
