Job summary

Covington Developments in Coventry is seeking an experienced CNC Turner – Setter, Operator and Programmer to join our Turning section. The role entails setting, operating and programming Fanuc CNC turning machines to produce high-precision components.

You will work under minimal supervision within a skilled team, ensuring parts meet exact specifications with strong emphasis on quality and efficiency. Permanent, full-time with overtime opportunities and standard weekday hours.

About Covington Developments

Established in 1997, Covington Developments manufactures high-precision machined components for customers across industries including pharmaceutical machinery, defence and automated technology.

The company specialises in CNC turning, CNC milling and conventional machining, using modern machinery and CAD/CAM technology to produce prototype and production components to demanding tolerances.

Our Turning section uses Fanuc-controlled CNC machines capable of producing precision components to extremely tight tolerances.

The Role

You will be responsible for setting, operating and programming CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components to the required specifications.

This role requires an experienced CNC Turner who can work accurately with minimal supervision, check their own work and maintain consistently high standards throughout production.

What We're Looking For

You will need:

• Strong CNC turning experience
• Experience setting, operating and programming CNC lathes
• Good working knowledge of Fanuc controls
• The ability to work accurately with minimal supervision
• Confidence using precision measuring equipment
• The ability to work to close tolerances
• A strong understanding of machining processes and tooling
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
• A reliable and professional approach

It would be beneficial if you also have:

• CAD/CAM experience
• Five years or more of CNC machining experience
• Experience producing low-volume or precision-engineered components

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7:00am-4:00pm
• Friday: 7:00am-12:00pm
• Overtime is available when required
